Rigging?

I've been looking at various things on the Internet and books about learning the art and science of rigging.

What I need now are addresses for stores and shops in the bay area (preferably close to San Francisco) to purchase wire rope, spansets, and other pieces of rigging hardware (Home Despot doesn't sell this sort of thing.

Anyone?

Oh, and a listing of theater supply companies in the Bay Area would be a nice part of this tribe as well.

    grainger.com is the best sorce for all Rigging and hardware, from rated Shackles to chain motors and they have a great
    search as long as you don't use slang ie... Spansets= round slings

    i recomend carpenter rigging in sf, also feeney wire and rope are who we have historicall used for burningman.

    a great online resourse is www.flints.co.uk which is a london england based rigging shop that sells all kinds of hyper neat things, but delivery is a little slow

    not to be a stick in the mud, but while there are many excellent books and web based resources out there it's really a good idea to take a workshop or two from a qualified industry professional if you're thinking of taking up rigging.

        Get Harry Donovan's Arena Rigging book. It is by far the most informative book on entertainment rigging techniques.
